Holger Rune Reveals His 2023 Season Provisional Calendar Until Wimbledon

Following a stupendous season, Holger Rune has revealed a busy provisional calendar for the upcoming 2023 season, ending with the grass-court swing.

According to the tentative schedule, the Danish tennis star will kick off his new season campaign at the Adelaide International 1, the ATP 250 tournament, which is set to commence on 2nd January.

The Memorial Drive Tennis Centre field included Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Jannik Sinner.  

Later, the 19-year-old is slated to travel to Auckland for the ASB Classic, where he will be confronted with World No.3 Casper Ruud & Co.

Rune will next be joined by a star-studded lineup featuring defending champion Nadal, Djokovic, Medvedev, and Tsitsipas for the Australian Open 2023 in Melbourne.

In the aftermath of the Down Under swing, World No.11 is scheduled to participate in back-to-back tournaments such as the Davis Cup, Montpellier, and Rotterdam, where he will have to take on a strong field, including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The prestigious North American events, Indian Well Masters, and Miami Open are also incorporated in the Rune’s 2023 calendar. 

Moreover, the three-time ATP title winner is aimed to compete in the second Grand Slam event of the season in Roland Garros through Monte-Calro Masters, BMW Open, where he is defending champion, Madrid Masters, and Rome Masters.

Meanwhile, he will be locked horns with Aussie Nick Kyrgios at the exhibition match in his backyard.

During the grass season, the Danish tennis player is set to fight at Queen’s Club and Wimbledon.

Holger Rune To Play For Team Kites at the World Tennis League

As pre-season preparation, Rune is slated to play at the inaugural edition of the World Tennis League(WTC). A mixed-gender team exhibition tournament will be held from 19 to 24 December at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, where Danish will be part of the Team Kites alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime, Iga Swiatek, Eugenie Bouchard, and Sania Mirza.
