
After two years of hiatus, the renowned Australian Open leadup women’s tournament, Hobart International, is set to take place, including three former champions, Elise Mertens, Sofia Kenin, and Alize Cornet, from 9-14 January 2023 at Domain Tennis Centre in the capital of Tasmania.
The WTA 250 event past title winners will be joined by Wimbledon quarter-finalist Marie Bouzkova, Americans Bernarda Pera, Madison Brengle, Claire Liu, Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, Egyptian Mayar Sherif, Italian Jasmine Paolini, and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian.
Moreover, the 2021 US Open winner Emma Raducanu, Wimbledon semi-finalist Tatjana Maria, and American rising star Alycia Parks are also on the alternates list. Notably, the defending champion Elena Rybakina’s name is present in the entry list of the concurrent event, Adelaide International 2.
